MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

We had a fun 3-day weekend!

Saturday morning we met my friends and their kids at the Herrinfest Parade.

After the parade I took Drew to get her ears pierced.
Andrew worked Saturday morning so Penny went with me.
I took her to Claire's in the Marion mall (since they're never busy) to avoid all the dirty looks from people. I did Emma's in the C'Dale mall, at a kiosk in the center of the mall on a busy Saturday afternoon when she was 4 months old. Not a good idea! People are rude... if looks could kill I would have been in trouble that day!
As I was filling out the paperwork Penny noticed my mom and dad walking by. She got their attention and they helped us too. Mom said she would hold Drew if I couldn't so I let her. Then she chickened out and Penny ended up holding her.
Drew did great though. She cried for a split second and has been great since.
I tried to take a picture of her with her new earrings but this is the best I could get... you can see one at least.

We went and watched Amelia's ball game Saturday afternoon then headed home to start cooking for Sunday. Our church has a fish fry on Memorial Day weekend every year. Andrew is in charge of this cookout. It's normally not a big deal but with our church growing like it is the more work this fish fry is becoming. He had to plan for 400 people. That's a lot of food and a lot of planning! So I made cake balls Saturday night and got up extra early Sunday morning to get my cheesey potatoes in the oven and ready to go.
After the fish fry Andrew stayed to help clean up and I took the girls home for a nap.

Mom and Dad came over for a little bit then it was off to HerrinFest to let Emma ride.

Her and Ava are such Carnies!

Drew enjoyed watching the girls ride.
(I love this picture of her)

Emma played a fishing game and won a unicorn.

She is so proud of it!

Andrew started Emma's swingset today.
He is making it himself instead of the kits that you buy.
I was a little nervous at first but it looks like it is going to be really cool.
Since he's making it himself he can add whatever he wants wherever he wants...
I think she will have 3 different ways to get to the top- ladder, rock wall and a firefighters' pole.
I should have known this project would be over-the-top when I told Andrew I wanted to get Emma a swingset!

This is what it looked like tonight when we picked up for the night.
He also has the roof completed but I didn't get a picture of it.

More to come as "Project Swingset" continues this week.
